Harp Sinfonia

Harp Sinfonia, formerly Orchestra of Angels, is a multi-harp ensemble provides training and performance opportunities to harp students. Members are a group of dedicated students of Andrew Chan, aged from 9 to 16, selected across Ontario.

Seeing this important part of study for promising Canadian harp students, Mr. Chan passionately seeks out performance opportunities and arranges music for them. Under his direction, the Harp Sinfonia debuted successfully at the Royal Ontario Museum and subsequently performed at the Glen Gould Studio in collaboration with the Philomusica Symphony Orchestra. They have been featured by the Toronto Harp Society, which they presented a concert of world music and the premiere of "Harp to the World", a composition written specially for them by Constantine Caravassilis. Recently, they were showcased by Ontario Philharmonic.

With initiative and enthusiaism from supporters, the "Harp Sinfonia Foundation" was established last July. The purpose of the foundation is to encourage students to pursue education and engage in performance experiences of the harp, and to generate donation to support various educational and performance objectives.
